Kennel policy

We conform to Canadian Kennel Club regulations. We do not sell to or through pet shops. Most animals in these establishments come from puppy mills. The parents have been mated indiscriminately without care as to health, breed or temperament. Others come from careless owners who did not care enough for their dog to sterilise it and allowed it to run loose in heat. The sign may claim that a puppy is a Great Pyrenean and the puppy may resemble one but does not have the Pyr temperament or characteristics at all. Because it looks like one doesn't mean it is purebred but unregistered. Furthermore, it is illegal to claim that a puppy is a certain breed if it is not registered. You may think you are getting a bargain; this is true only if you wish to acquire a sealed surprise box without knowing what it contains.

We ask our prospective owners to have a fenced in area for the dog to run. The Pyr is a big dog and needs to be able to move.

We offer a two year guaranty for major genetic problems. All the dogs in our breeding programme have been x-rayed and certified for displasia. We have done all in our power for our dogs to be free of genetic defects which might prevent them from fulfilling their purpose as companion and guardian. This complies with Canadian Kennel Club regulations.

You will receive the CKC registration certificate as soon as possible. We send in the request for registration and we forward the certificate to the new owner as soon as we receive it from the CKC. Our dogs are registered so that you know exactly what the provenance and the antecedents are. We send you a copy of the puppy's pedigree for three generations with the certificate.

We are available to discuss problems the new owner may encounter. Advice and suggestions are a phone call or an e-mail away for our puppy owners.

We will not tolerate abuse or neglect of a puppy or dog we have placed. In this event, the animal must be surrendered to us with registration signed back to us. In such case, the guaranty is rendered null and void and the purchase price is forfeit.
